Three More? Plus, Random Comic Book Covers

Academy Award winning Actor Karl Malden died during the past week, and today I heard over the radio that former NFL star Steve Mcnair was found shot to death.

I'm not very familiar with Karl Malden, but I remember Steve Mcnair. Just before the NFL playoffs during the year the Titans went to the Super Bowl, I was stricken with the flu and I was having some very vivid dreams. In one of them, I was on a bus with the Tennessee Titans, sitting next to NFL star Eddie George. Titans coach Jeff Fisher was standing at the head of the bus, and he was making a speech about how everyone on the team had worked their entire lives to get to this point, and that they shouldn't let this opportunity pass them by.

The Titans were a long shot to make the Superbowl that year, but that is where they went. It was a strange dream for me to have because I'm not a Titans fan, but I believe I had it so that I would know that the other dreams that I had while suffering a high fever were equally valid. They were personal dreams that I don't wish to share with the entire world, but I will say this, heaven is real.

If the pattern of three celebrity deaths at a time holds up, there will be another one before the week is over.

I heard the news about Steve Mcnair while I was working on another topic.I have some comic book covers in my collection that I haven't posted here for various reasons, and I wanted to include them all in one post.

If Magik has a color, I would have to say that it's green. In the above comic Stan Lee offers his take on Green Lantern. The monster with two buildings in his hands caught my eye because it reminded me of another monster.

The second pic is the spooky face that appeared in the smoke of the WTC. I haven't posted this pic before now because it is very subjective. Still, the comic has a demon destroying two towers, and the smoke face appears in the smoke of the towers. And of course there is the Green Man, who is known in some circles as Osiris.

In this comic, (Daredevil #349, Feb, 1996) We see another devils head rising above the towers. His head is surrounded by black clouds, which resemble black smoke. Scraps of paper fly about him, and it is interesting to note that the last three numbers on the bar code read 911. Ascent into mystery indeed.

Update: The day after I wrote this post, former Secretary of Defense Robert Mcnamara passed away at his home. He was 93.

Best Uses of a Disembodied Eye in a Comic Book III

"I feel like someone is watching me."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If you didn't know Osiris (and probably Horus) had green skin this cover wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. I still don't know what it has to do with sex.

Did the evil eye just vaporize a man on the beach?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Nothing funny about this one really. It's like a game, how many occult symbols can you spot? Upright, you can see the beam of light coming from doc's head touching the letters C-R-A-F-T. Lets look at it from another angle.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We have an eye atop a golden pyramid. There are 6 points of light coming out of the eye, causing a 6 sided hexagon. Both of Doctor Strange's hands are flashing the devil sign. There are 12 circles around the eye, and the beams of light are pointing to where 1,3,5,7,9, and 11 would be. The eye also looks like a sun rising out of a mountain. The symbol on Doc's chest is a "peace sign" which is an inverted broken cross. Below the cross is the Egyptian symbol for Ka, which means spirit or life force. Doctor Strange is a member of Marvel universe's Illuminati.

OK, I understand the Rann/Iran holy war thing, but what country is Thanagar supposed to be?

Global Warming Hysteria

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Due to recent realizations that some proponents of global warming lack a basic understanding of science, I feel the need to explain a few things first. In the beginnings of the Earth, there was no life. The Earth was a molten planet with toxic gasses swirling about. There was very little, if any oxygen.

The first atmospheric oxygen on Earth probably occurred as ultraviolet light broke apart H2O molecules. This would have resulted in a tiny bit of atmospheric oxygen, but it did result in some ozone. This helped form the beginning of the ozone layer.

Much more oxygen was produced through photosynthesis by cyanobacteria. However, millions and millions of years after the arrival of cyanobacteria there was still very little oxygen in the atmosphere.

The atmosphere of Earth was mostly nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The first complex plant life happened about 700 million years ago, and the first complex animal life 545 million years ago. The plants needed to convert the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to oxygen for the animals to survive. The animals in turn produced more carbon dioxide for the plants to convert. This is called a symbiotic relationship. Plants and animals need each other to survive.

Here is a pie chart of the current Earth gases.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Carbon Dioxide is at .037%. This is a 35% increase from 1832, which was before the industrial revolution.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Temperatures have gone down over the past 10 years, (01-08 are not on the chart), but the overall trend of the last 150 years has been upward. So the increased greenhouse gases are causing global warming, right? Not so fast kemosabi. One is not necessarily related to the other, violent crime goes up when ice cream sales go up, this is because both increase during the summer months. This is called a confounding variable The confounding variable here is solar activity.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You can clearly see in the chart temperature correlates with increased solar activity more so than increased carbon dioxide. It would also explain why Mars is heating up.

I could show a chart that positively correlates rising temperature with rising beer sales over the last 150 years. It doesn't mean one caused the other.

So why the hysteria over man made global warming? What is the goal of the global warming backers?

Throughout history, governments and other groups of individuals followed a plan for achieving it's goals by using what is now called the Hegelian Principle.

Step one: CREATE A "PROBLEM": Create it or take one that does exist and build it up out of all proportion to its real importance;

Step Two: PUBLICIZE THE "PROBLEM": Make sure a story about this problem appears in the news media each and every day, in newspapers, news magazines, radio, and television. Hit it again and again in a "steady drumbeat" that soon has people who don't pay real attention to politics (which is the majority of them) clamoring for a "solution" to the problem;

Step Three: OFFER A "SOLUTION": A solution that takes away one or more of our rights and further undermines the constitutional protections we all are supposed to enjoy. One that involves higher taxes (to pay for this "solution," of course), and one we would not have allowed them to do without this previous conditioning of the public.

You know the presented problem, which is global warming. A method they have used with the publicizing is to instill fear. Consider this video.

Or this film, where global warming causes an ice age overnight.

So what is the solution to global warming. It could be world government. In the book "the First Global Revolution", we have the following statement.

"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.... All these dangers are caused by human intervention... The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."

Richard Haas, president of the Council on Foreign Relations writes..

Some governments are prepared to give up elements of sovereignty to address the threat of global climate change. Under one such arrangement, the Kyoto Protocol, which runs through 2012, signatories agree to cap specific emissions. What is needed now is a successor arrangement in which a larger number of governments, including the US, China, and India, accept emissions limits or adopt common standards because they recognize that they would be worse off if no country did.

Another "solution" is to increase taxes. If you follow the link you can see it is already in the works. I don't think it's going to get people to drive less, but is sure as heck will increase the amount of revenue for the federal government. Or so they think. It will actually cripple the economy. People will have to choose between gas to go to work or food.

The good news is that the Hegelian Principle might fail this time. A good many people have woken up to this scam, including over 17000 scientists who have signed a petition.

I think Steve Forbes sums it up best.

"There are no real facts to back it up. It's now become a religion instead of science and great fundraiser for extreme environmentalists. I don't think it's a hoax, just bogus science, like eugenics was decades ago. I got news for you ... the weather patterns change. A thousand years ago, Europe was warmer than it is today. Five hundred years ago we had a mini-ice age. Sixty years ago between 1940 and 1970, the weather got cooler. Now it gets a couple of degrees warmer and suddenly the world's comin' to an end. It's nonsense."

I disagree with Mr. Forbes about one thing, it is a hoax.

I Dream of Genies or Who Let the Dogs Out?

Yesterday I found an old book copyright 1949 called "You and Atomic Energy and its Wonderful Uses." I always got a kick out of seeing how atomic energy was portrayed in the 50's, so I picked it up. I was astounded to see a genie's lantern on the cover, considering my recent posts about Djinn here and here.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The insert shows a dog holding a lantern.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Why all the genie references in a book about atomic energy? From page one.

Centuries ago there was a story about a lamp that could do marvelous things. It was called "Aladdin's Lamp." This lamp never existed, but the story has lived because of the wonder of it.
This is the story of the atomic furnace-almost an Aladdin's lamp of a furnace- that can do marvelous things. This one is real.

The dog anamorphic is illustrated throughout the book.

In the first "I dream of Jeannie" episode an astronaut's capsule named Stardust One malfunctions and lands on a beach. The astronaut finds a genie in a bottle. Forty some years after the first Jeannie episode aired, NASA named a space probe Stardust. It's mission was to collect dust from the tail of a comet, in which it was successful.

The astronaut asks Jeannie to conjure up an airplane, and she conjures a falcon.

Jeannie is played by the actress Barbara Eden. "Ba" is the part of the ancient Egyptian soul that contains individual personality.

BaBa is a Sumerian god depicted with the head of a dog. Ra is the ancient Egyptian sun god, depicted with the head of a falcon.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So in that scene, we have the dog goddess resonator bringing forth the sun god.

Jeannie finally conjures a helicopter, so the astronaut can go home.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So this is the second instance we have a "dog" controlling the power of the Djinn. The Djinn often appear as a black dog.

In the above video at 3:16 3:37 and 4:28, a subliminally placed spooky looking disembodied head appears.

I gotta roll, can't stand still,
Got a flamin' heart, can't get my fill,
Eyes that shine burning red,
Dreams of you all through my head.
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah...

It would seem Robert Plant dreams of Genie as well.

I would not be able to complete this post without mentioning G'nort. Green Lantern was derived from Aladdin's Lamp, and G'nort is a Green Lantern in the form of a dog.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Now I just want to ask, Who let the Genie out of the bottle, or should I say "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

The Green Energy

What is Green Energy? Wikipedia says
The term Green energy is used to describe sources of energy which are considered environmentally friendly, non-polluting; and therefore may provide a remedy to the systemic effects of certain forms of pollution, and Global warming.

Green Light

To greenlight a project, in the context of the movie and TV businesses, is to formally approve production finance, thereby allowing the project to move forward from the development phase to pre-production and, barring disasters, principal photography.

The Green energy is everywhere. It is the only known substance that has the power to kill Superman.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It is the weapon of Jedi masters.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And Intergalactic peacekeepers.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In the year 2000, the Green Energy changed the outcome of the presidential election and changed the fate of the entire world when Ralph Nader of the Green Party received 5% of the popular vote. If Nader had not run, most of the votes would have went to Al Gore, who since then has become a mighty wielder of the Green Energy.

And of course, there is the legend of Fiddler's Green.

Alan Moore wrote about the Green, which is defined in the Swamp Thing's Wikipedia entry as the dimension that contains all plant life. It was like a hive mind, a kind of collective consciousness for plant life. In that story a human/plant hybrid named Jason Woodrue gains control of the green and seeks to eradicate all non plant life because he believes they are harming the green with pollution and deforestation. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Swamp Thing is able to defeat Woodrue by asking him a simple question, which is "Who will change the oxygen back into the gases we need to survive once all the men and animals are dead?"

Have you ever wondered why money is green? Scores of dead presidents are forever enshrined in the Green Energy.

In 1970, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac wrote the single Green Manalishi.

Green has explained that he wrote the song after experiencing a drug-induced dream, in which he was visited by a green dog which barked at him. He understood that the dog represented money. "It scared me because I knew the dog had been dead a long time. It was a stray and I was looking after it. But I was dead and had to fight to get back into my body, which I eventually did. When I woke up, the room was really black and I found myself writing the song."

When Dorothy and her companions set off to see the Wizard of OZ, they entered the Emerald City. The Wicked Witch of the West was portrayed with green skin.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Why are aliens referred to as "little green men?" Why can't they be orange, or yellow or something?

I did a wiki search for "Green Magick" and found this.

Green Magick is a term to describe the type of magic. Green magic is the use of witchcraft to gain Money, luck, or Fertility.

No wonder most companies want to go green.
