Batman is the Descendant of Skull & Bones Founder

At 6:19 in this video, it is revealed Bruce Wayne's great grandfather is the founder of Skull & Bones.

I found this so interesting, I did some research on the fictional character Bruce Wayne's family tree. From what I remember, Bruce Wayne' parents were named Thomas and Martha Wayne. They first appeared in Detective comics #33, where they were murdered by a mugger named Joe Chill.

In this story, Batman's hometown is referred to as Manhattan, New York. Gotham City hasn't been invented yet.

It's very interesting that one of the tales in this issue is "the Northwoods Mystery" starring the character Speed Saunders. In the sixties "Operation Northwoods" was a plot to use false flag attacks in order to get the United states into a war with Cuba, and it was rejected by president Kennedy.

I wondered how a simple doctor could amass the fortune the Wayne's passed on to their son. Wikipedia explains it as such.

Thomas Wayne is a fictional character in the Batman series of comic books. Dr. Thomas Wayne was the father of Bruce Wayne, and husband of Martha Wayne, as well as a gifted surgeon and philanthropist. He was also the inheritor of the Wayne family fortune, which was built through industry and real estate by previous generations.

Born Martha Kane (a maiden name given in homage to Batman co-creator Bob Kane), Martha was the heir to the Kane Chemical fortune and a member of one of Gotham City's wealthiest families. It has not been revealed whether she has any connection to the other prominent Kanes of Gotham, Kathy (Batwoman) or Bette (Flamebird). In her youth, Martha had a reputation as a notorious party girl, socialite, and debutante, frequenting all the most prestigious country clubs, night clubs, and soirees. However, she also had a developed social conscience and often used her family's wealth and status to champion causes and charities.

So Bruce Wayne is the product of a union between a heir to a real estate mogul and a heiress to a chemical company fortune. They most certainly would have had ancestors who belonged to secret societies. Whether Bruce Wayne is a member of any of these, let's hope not, but according to some of the latest Dark Knight reviews I've seen, he is into rendition and warrant less wiretapping.

Hi Ed
Great spotting.

I think there's so much more to 'the Batman' than we realise - amazing what the concerted efforts of blogging 'diggers' can uncover!

All the best

Yea, I just realized Batman is the creator of "Brother Eye", a sattelite in the sky that keeps track of allthe other meta humans.
